The launch in the most popular segment will strengthen and increase the overall market share of the Korean automaker.

Hyundai is all set to make its presence in the SUV market of India even stronger by launching a range of four-new SUVs in India in 2022. While three of them are just facelifts of the existing models, one of them is an entirely new generation model, which will now serve as the flagship model for Hyundai in India. Here’s a look at all those four new Hyundai SUVs arriving in India in 2022:

Hyundai Tucson

The first big SUV launch from Hyundai in 2022 is the all-new fourth-generation Tucson, which will replace the facelifted current version introduced only in 2020. This new Tucson certainly looks sharper than before, thanks to the ‘parametric grille’ with daytime running LEDs in its sides, re-profiled LED headlamps, several creases on the side profile and wide and sharper looking LED tail lamps.

The cabin of the Hyundai Tucson has also been entirely revamped with an all-new dashboard and features like a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a touch panel for automatic climate control. Expect the cabin of the new Tucson to be a feature-rich place with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charger and leather upholstery.

Hyundai will be retaining the current set of engines, which were upgraded in 2020 with BS6 emission norms. The range will include a 2.0-litre 152 PS naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 2.0-litre 185 PS diesel engine. And like now, the new Tucson will be available with both manual and automatic gearbox options.

Hyundai Venue facelift

Off late, due to the arrival of newer offerings in the sub-compact SUV space, the Hyundai Venue has started showing its age. However, given that Hyundai is quick enough in updating its vehicles, the Venue is all set to receive its first facelift this year.

While it is not yet confirmed how the new Hyundai Venue will look like, it will most likely get a new ‘parametric design’ grille with integrated daytime running LEDs in it and re-profiled LED headlamps. At the rear too, as evident from the test mules of new Venue spied in South Korea, the facelifted version will get sleeker-looking LED tail lamps. Expect little changes on the inside in the form of a couple of new features like ventilated front seats and updated Hyundai Bluelink connected car tech.

Under the hood, the new Hyundai Venue will be the same car as it is now. It will continue to be offered with the same set of engines – a 1.2-litre 83 PS naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre 120 PS turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre 100 PS diesel engine.

Hyundai Creta facelift

Like the Hyundai Venue, the second-generation Hyundai Creta is also going to receive a cosmetic upgrade with tweaked front and rear profiles towards the end of 2022. This facelifted version has already made its debut in Indonesia and looks bolder and sharper than the current version.

At the front, like in all the new generation Hyundai vehicles, the new Creta will also feature a bigger ‘parametric grille’ with integrated daytime running LEDs and re-profiled vertical LED headlamps. The rear profile will be revised with the omission of a black strip across the boot lid and mildly restyled LED tail lamps. In all likelihood, the cabin will remain the same in terms of layout but will get a couple of new features like a full-TFT instrument console from the Alcazar. It will also come bestowed with a new range of ADAS safety features in top-spec variants.

The Hyundai Creta facelift will retain its current engine lineup, which consists of a 1.5-litre 115 PS naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.4-litre 140 PS turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre 115 PS diesel engine, with the same set of transmission options as available now.

Hyundai Kona EV facelift

The first-ever electric vehicle from Hyundai in India, the Kona EV, is also set to receive its first makeover that is already available in several global markets. The facelifted Hyundai Kona EV is among the six new EVs which Hyundai is planning for India till 2028.

While the overall silhouette of the new Hyundai Kona EV will remain the same, the electric SUV will come with a cleaner front end with redesigned split headlamps and tail lamps. The cabin of the Kona EV will also come with newer elements like a 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console and a wider touchscreen infotainment system, in addition to other feature add-ons.

The facelifted Kona EV is expected to retain the current setup of 136 bhp electric motor and the 39.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, the latter of which gives it an ARAI-claimed range of 452 km.
