What is the tyre size for my car?

On the wall of the tyre, you will see the tyre marking for example 205/55 R16: this means;

  • 195 mm is the width of the tyre;

  • R16 stands for (R)adial tyre, 16 inches is the diameter of the rim that the tyre will fit
  • 87V indicated that V is the speed rating for the tyre and 87 is the load index,i.e. at what maximum speed can the car be driven and how much maximum  load can the car carry , with respect to the tyres.
