What is the tyre size for my car?
On the wall of the tyre, you will see the tyre marking for example 205/55 R16: this means;
- 195 mm is the width of the tyre;
- 55 stands for the aspect ratio of the tyre in percent, which is the section height divided by the section width. 55% of 195mm equals to 107.25 mm is the height of the sidewall of the tyre;
- R16 stands for (R)adial tyre, 16 inches is the diameter of the rim that the tyre will fit
- 87V indicated that V is the speed rating for the tyre and 87 is the load index,i.e. at what maximum speed can the car be driven and how much maximum load can the car carry , with respect to the tyres.
